More about Waxing in Draper, Utah at Wax Me Too Salon

In Utah, Wax Me Too has five different locations with its main headquarters being in the cute town of Draper!  Several years ago, WMT opened its doors just west of I-15 with one small treatment room and two eager owners sharing the space.  Now, they are located throughout Utah in Layton, Salt Lake City, Draper, Orem and St. George.

Because Wax Me Too salons are best known as "waxing only salons" they have become increasingly popular within the community.  After all, when it comes to hair removal, waxing is a fast, efficient, non permanent way to remove hair. However, back in the day not many estheticians were very skilled at this art. It's simple really.  When an esthetician graduates from skin care school and goes to work in a salon, she becomes a jack of all trades.  During an average day she will do facials, chemical peels, lash and brow tinting, pedicures and manicures, and if she is lucky, a wax or two.

With the opening of Wax Me Too, its owners recognized a need for skilled waxers in the community.  More and more men and women were turning to waxing for hair removal.  Laser was proving to be expensive and in many cases not very effective.  Waxing, on the other hand, solved the problem of unwanted hair. And  Wax Me Too solved the problem of bad waxing by training its estheticians how to wax properly.  When one waxes all day long, its easy to become an expert-- and once an expert to be fast and efficient.

When the client waxes, the hair is removed from its follicle, forcing the body to create a brand new baby hair in its place.  The hair grows in thinner and finer.  After several waxes, it appears that the hair growth has slowed down and thinned out!  What could be better?  Most clients who wax will repeat the procedure once each month.

The most popular and number one requested service is the brazilian bikini wax for both men and women.  With dudes, we call this procedure the "manzillion" and believe me, lots of men are making appointments.

Wax Me Too in Draper is conveniently located just west of I-15 with easy freeway access from the north and south.  Being right on 123rd South, the main thoroughfare of Draper it is accessible from all four directions.  WMT is located inside the beautiful Image Studios--home to over 30 individual business such has hair stylists, nail tech's, massage therapists and more.  The waxing suites consists of three treatment rooms and reception.

Wax Me Too Salt Lake City Opens Third Treatment Room

Wax Me Too, downtown Salt Lake City, is pleased to announce the grand opening of its 3rd treatment room inside Studio Salons.  Wax Me Too salons have become Utah's number one source for all over body waxing, specializing in the popular brazilian bikini wax!

Because we now do over 3000 brazilian waxes each month, along with an assortment of all over body waxing for both men and women, we have had to expand in order to meet the high demand of waxing.

Each Wax Me Too esthetician is a "Master esthetican" with 1200 hours of skin care education.  When coming to work at Wax Me Too, our estheticians spend additonal training hours learning the art of waxing.

Brazilian waxing has become the most popular waxing service. I supposed we can thank the three sisters from Brazil for making this hair removal technique popular.  But, let me add, that while the sisters from Brazil may have created the brazilan wax, we at Wax Me Too have perfected it.

Most brazilian waxes take approximately 15 minutes, yet at Wax Me Too our brazilans are booked at a half an hour.  Some clients may like to take it a little bit more slowly and as customer service is our priorty, we will follow our customers lead.

Male waxing is becoming increasingly popular.  Men, as well as women, find they enjoy the benefits of being hair free and hair removal through waxing is a fast, efficient and affordable.  Some of our most popular services for men include back waxing, chest and tummy waxing, manzillion waxing ( just like a ladies brazilian yet geared for men) and believe it or not, eyebrow wax to get rid of the unibrow.

Even Casey Scott Waxes

Casey Scott of Channel 2 in Utah is somewhat of a celebrity in our area.  Most of you know him as the am host that tours around the greater Salt Lake area and interviews local business owners and keeps his viewers on track with what's happening!  A few months ago, Casey made his way to Wax Me Too Salon's main headquarters in Draper, Utah.  The special of the morning was to talk about waxing and the millions of folks who are trying it out!

At Wax Me Too ( we have 5 locations in Utah) we see hundreds of folks each month for their waxing needs.  After our facebook fans stalked Casey's facebook, he decided to see what all the hype was about and come and check out our facility.

The question when he arrived was...do you want to wax and if yes, what do you want to wax?  Well, Casey vascillated back and forth as to whether or not he should do the most popular wax requested--the Brazilian, or as some folks like to call it because he is a male--the Manzillion!  He kept viewers on the hook for the duration of the show until the very last second he made up his mind AND WAXED!

Now lets jump to July, Casey Scott and his show Utah's Fresh Living, gave us a call and said, "Hey Wax Me Too ladies, come on in and let's talk eyebrows and summer time waxing".

So we did.  Yesterday, July 5th, Joann and I ( Jolie) had the pleasure of meeting with Casey and his adorable co-host of the day, Amanda, in their studio right downtown Salt Lake City.  We waxed some brows and some lips and boy did they look fabulous.

Will Casey Scott come back in for a second Manzilian?  Well folks, as we like to say within the walls of our treatment room....we are like Vegas!  We will never tell!

For more information on waxing, please feel free to check out our website at www.waxmetoo.com and join our facebook for contests, free waxing and humor.

As summer days increase in duration, Wax Me Too Salons all over Utah have been bombarded with new clients seeking smooth, hair free skin for the warmer months.  We are thrilled to have you!  In our Draper spa alone, we've had an increase in bridal waxing, male waxing, and newbies to brazilian waxing.

Many of you know that our Orem salon opened just a few weeks ago. Our main esthetician in Orem is Jessica, who funnily enough, went to esthetics school with Joann and myself, Jolie.  Our school was Francois D, now known as Echelon Edge.  Jessica was a friend of ours while studying the art of waxing and other body treatments.  A few years later, we connected over Facebook and discovered that Jess still loved waxing!  We were lucky to have her join Wax Me Too.  She is a dedicated and skilled waxer who spent her first several months with us, waxing in our Draper location.

The Orem waxing salon is located smack in the heart of Orem and right across the street from the University mall.  Its at 1160 South State Street!  Just look up to the second floor and you will see our logo lady across the window!  In the past, we've had a zillion clients come to see us in the Draper location, who are from Orem and Provo--and lots and lots of brides from BYU and UVU!

Because traffic is so bad driving North bound, we felt that we should open a waxing salon in Orem so that our Utah County clients wouldn't have so far to go.

So far, Orem has been a huge success. Poor Jess has been waxing her fingers to the bone, with her number one requested service being the brazilian and bikini wax.

In order to give her some relief, we just hired a wonderful new woman named Brienne.  Brienne has been a waxing esthetician for several years.  After training in the Wax Me Too style of waxing, she is happy to provide her waxing skill in our Orem location, hence giving Jessica some needed time off.

Summer has just started....so come on in and see us for waxing!

Waxing, All Summer Long!

At Wax Me Too Salons, waxing for hair removal is popular all year long. Many people think it is a trendy treatment, a luxury, or a once in a blue moon service. But we beg to differ!

Interestingly waxing has become a bit of a phenomena in the United States and from what we can see, especially here in Utah.

Body hair is out. Waxing is in. Because the younger generations have declared that excessive body hair, in the bikini area, on guy's backs and chests, and in other areas, both male and female is gross, waxing has become very popular. So why wax you ask?

Waxing is affordable for one. A typical bikini wax which cleans up the bikini area costs only $30.00 and gives the client smooth hairless skin for about one month. Spend your summers boating on Lake Powell or water skiing at Bear Lake, why not invest in a simple bikini wax that can allow you to throw away your razer and be shaving bump free for weeks at a time?

For a man, excessive hair on the back can cause odd looks and giggles behind some cute gals hand. Don't be embarrassed by that shag carpet on your back. Wax it off. A back wax is quick and affordable. At $50.00 a back wax at Wax Me Too Salon, your guy will have all the hair removed in about 15 to 20 minutes. Yes, it does hurt...but just a little, but 15 minutes is worth a month of Saturdays, hair free, at the lake! And just a little more information: a male back wax is the most requested male service we offer!

Secondly, unlike laser hair removal, waxing has instant results. When you come in to wax hair off your bod, you walk away from our salon hair free! With waxing, we pull the hair right out of its little follicle forcing the body to then make a brand new baby hair! The baby hair grows in thin and fine and soft! After multiple waxes, the results become even better.

Utah folks love waxing. We are athletic and busy! At Wax Me Too Salons, we know that 9 to 5 does not work for everyone, therefore we are open from early to late most days of the week!

It's the Little Things...

It's no secret that at Wax Me Too Salons our number one requested service is the popular brazilian bikini wax! But what you may not know is that we have numerous appointments on our books for the littlest of things!

While we wax bikinis all day long, there is a huge demand for facial waxing. Yep, that's right folks. Facial hair on a man, well, that's ok! But facial hair on a woman...? We women tend to go a little nuts when it comes to that odd wiry hair that appears randomly on our chins, or the little fuzz of mustache that seems to grow (and glow) in the sunlight. And eyebrows! Can't have a unibrow, or a a straight line across the top of our faces can we?

Facial waxing is in high demand at Wax Me Too. One week I counted the number of brows and lips that were waxed in our Draper store. 98! 98 women came into our salon, not for their bikinis, but for their facial hair!

While it is simple to pop into any salon, beauty or hair salon and have your facial hair removed you really should explore your options and chose a salon that meets your strict standards. Facial waxing isn't expensive. A decent eyebrow design will cost anywhere from $15 to $20. For a full list of prices, you can visit our website here.

Just the other day, I was in a nail salon having a last minute pedicure. A mother and her two teenage daughters came in and asked for brow waxes. As a salon owner, I was very interested in the procedures and observed quietly.

The first teenager sat into the pedicure chair and had wax (which was too thin and hot) quickly swiped across her lower brows, upper brows and in the middle. The technician then pressed the muslin to her skin and rip rip rip rip rip. 5 rips. The service was done in just under one minute.

The girl howled in pain, the technician looked a little worried and started to apply lotion. She said..."it's normal to be red". Meanwhile, the teenager didn't look convinced. The mother then, showing a modicum of concern, said "She is really really red. She's is using accutane."

A big red flag! Folks using accutane ( an anti-acne medication) NEVER EVER should wax. Why? Because it rips the skin right off and causes a lot of pain to the one being waxed.

First mistake, the waxer didn't ask for the girls history. If she had, and if she knew her business, she would know that the teenager was not a good candidate for waxing. Second mistake, the waxer didn't design the teens brows, she didn't take care to look at what would work best for her face, she just applied the wax and ripped it off.

My point is, you can get facial hair removal anywhere. You can have your brows threaded (but we will leave that for another post) You can have your lip hair removed with honey wax, blue wax, hard wax, soft wax, wax that smells like chocolate. That fur on the sides of your face, easy to de fuzz!

When you wax at a Wax Me Too salon you can be sure that we will first, make sure you are a good candidate for wax by asking you your history of meds and topicals, second, cleanse your skin before applying any wax, third, test the wax to make sure its not too hot which can cause burning, and lastly, make sure we are correctly shaping your eyebrow, removing the right hairs without damaging your skin.

Wax Your Underarms!

With the coming of spring, more and more women (and men) are preparing for better weather with underarm waxing.

At Wax Me Too Salons we see in increase in requests for other areas of waxing (than our number one requested service, the brazilian-bikini) such as the underarms, legs, and tummys!

So why wax your underarms? Well, to start off, there are many benefits to waxing. First and foremost is that it is completely unlike shaving. With shaving, you must reach for your razor every day. With waxing, the hair is removed from the follicle and a brand new baby hair must grow! And let me tell you, it doesn't grow back at super sonic speed, it grows back slow. Waxing hair from any part of your body ensures a slow regrowth! What could be better?

Secondly, with waxing, your regrowth will not only be slower, but the hair coming in will be thinner. Some women notice with shaving they get a 5 o'clock shadow. Because we are removing the hair from the root, the shadow is eliminated!

Are you one of those gals with 2 and 3 hairs in each follicle? With waxing, you will eliminate the thickness as all hairs can be removed by the root!

And lastly, the best reason to wax your underarms is to be hairless and shadow free all summer. Undearm waxing takes only minutes.

A typical client coming in for an underarm wax, just like the brazilian, is only booked at about 15 minutes, which gives us plenty to time to talk and catch up.

Your esthetician will ask you to lay on the table and stretch your arms out overhead. A cleanser is applied first. Next, the wax is applied --the esthetician will determine which direction your hair grows in order to pull the hair from the correct angle.

Yep, it stings just a little but before you have time to blink, your esthetician will place her oiled gloved hand onto the skin and voila...the stinging stops.

Most undearms require two to three strips of wax and a little tweezing afterwards. Remember we are perfectionist and will do what we can to get all the hairs.

To get the best wax possible, it's good to have at least 7 days worth of growth. Remember, the longer the hair the better the wax. So, if you can stand it, let it grow for 10 days to 2 weeks!

Waxing for hair removal is the way to go. It's fast, it's affordable and it lasts. Now is a good time to start for summer. Keep in mind, the more waxes you have, up to a point, the longer you will have between regrowth!

As in waxing all areas of the body, it does take about 3 waxing sessions to remove all the grown-up hairs and to get your hair growth cycles in sync with one another. After your third wax, you will notice a longevity between the time you waxed and when you are ready for another wax.

Join us on facebook...Wax Me Too Facebook. We always run contests and freebees and giveaways. This week, we are offering one lucky fan FREE underarm waxing for 3 months! Not only that, our facebook fan can also win the same deal for one of her friends.

Ready for an underarm wax, just call us at Wax Me Too Salons. We have 5 locations throughout Utah. Come see us in Layton, Salt Lake City, Draper, Orem, and St. George!

Waxing, The Battle Between Hard Wax and Soft Wax

Hard wax companies have done a brilliant job in touting the merits of hard wax versus soft wax when doing a brazilian waxing service, but the fact is, hard wax can be difficult to use, it's time consuming, it isn't as effective in hair removal, it causes more pain to the client, and can be expensive.

The companies that produce hard wax have sold the Esthetics industry as well as the general public on the benefits of hard wax through their claims to be "more gentle" on the skin and as effective in hair removal.

At Wax Me Too Salons, we beg to differ. Our expert brazilian waxers, trained in the art of brazilian waxing through the use of the "brazilian technique" would much rather use soft wax 99% of the time.

Yes, even in that particular area which is "supposed" to be so difficult to wax!

We do over 2000 brazilian waxes each month...with brazilian waxing being our number 1 requested service. We should probably rename ourselves The Brazilian Waxing Salon but we are rather addicted to the name Wax Me Too! (We do lots of legs, brows, backs and more..."from brows to toes & anything in between" ) But I digress.

Back to the debate of hard wax vs soft. When hard wax is applied, it has a "set up" period. It goes onto the skin in a warm smooth layer. And then you wait. And wait ...for it to harden so that it can be peeled off in one swoop (or two or three depending on the length) It's the peeling off part that has most clients on edge. Why? Because the esthetician must flick up the edge of the wax and then pull.

Now, that being said, there are those out there who are very proficient in hard wax usage. I, myself, took a 2 day class in Arizona on the usage of hard wax and am very comfortable with the application and the flick!

I just know that soft wax is "that" much easier and better to use. Someone not very proficient with the hard wax can make several painful mistakes...such as applying the wax into a hairy section of the body. When you go to "flick" the wax, you pull hair! Not good for the client.
In the lip area of the brazilian wax, hair can grow in different directions. It can be coarse, thick, difficult to remove. With hard wax, it is almost impossible to remove all the hair in one swoop or one fluid pull. It often takes two pulls and again...ouch for the client. Often, a reapplication of wax is needed.

With soft wax, the wax is applied, a thin piece of muslin is laid over the wax, pressure is used to ensure the muslin and wax adhere and then in one swift quick movement, the wax, the muslin and the hair are removed!

A skilled esthetician will not remove skin, will wax quickly and efficiently and cause minimal pain to the client. Becoming a competent waxer is like anything else in life when when you strive to be the best. The more you use a particular type of wax the more comfortable you will be with the wax, the more you educate yourself on your product and the more you do a particular service, the more expert you become.

At Wax Me Too salons, each esthetician is comfortable using soft wax. We do thousands of brazilians and have clients from all over the four corners of Utah, clients who come other states such as Wyoming, Idaho, and Nevada...we know what we are doing and we do it well.

We make safety, sanitation and education our priority to ensure that our clients receive the best in customer service and the best waxing service in Utah. We have both hard wax and soft wax in our salon.

Come on in, let us show you the difference between the two waxes and we will make you a fan of plain uncomplicated soft wax!

Brazilian Waxing and Vajazzles! A New Way to Body Bling

Body Bling and brazilian waxing are Utah women's most requested service when booking at a Wax Me Too Salon!

Jennifer Love Hewitt made Vajazzling an instant rage when she announced on the Jimmy Kimmel show that she once had Swarovski Crystal designs placed on her freshly waxed "brazilian-bikini". He dropped to his knees.

Clients at Wax Me Too tied up our phone lines wanting to know when we would offer this trendy, sexy, and if you really think about it, funny, new sort of body bling. Wax Me Too Salons now offer their clients a wide array of various designs and colors of pretty Swarovski crystals to be placed....well, actually anywhere you have skin.

A common misconception is that they are placed in an area of the body where the sun will never shine! Come on folks, crystals down there? Think bikini line, think hip bone, think buttock cheeks. But, the most popular place is just above the pubic bone giving your partner a very unexpected sexy surprise.

Swarovski crystal designs are best when placed on freshly waxed skin. Hence, after a brazilian or bikini waxing service, the designs are strategically placed on your skin and will last anywhere from 3 to 5 days ...(with some clients saying they've lasted up to two weeks).

At Wax Me Too Salons, the Vajazzles are offered as an additional service to our clients. Unlike New York Salons, Wax Me Too designs are a mere $10.00 per design, making it affordable for anyone wanting to try out this fun new way of body decoration.

A Vajazzle can be applied in under five minutes. All the designs are pre-created, all you have to do is peel and stick the design onto your clean skin. While they apply best to freshly waxed skin, don't let it deter you that your last wax was a few weeks ago....want some body bling, add a Vajazzle. Like waxing, Vajazzling is fun and sexy and offers an element of surprise to the unsuspecting!

For the Bride! The Brazilian Honeymoon

And she wants a Brazilian honeymoon! At Wax Me Too Salon we help hundreds of Utah brides prepare for their special day. Brazilian waxing is our number one requested service and quite often we are found by local brides in anticipation of having a hair free honeymoon.

No, you don't need a passport because I'm not talking about going to Brazil.

We have many brides call us because they are anxious to have a brazilian waxing service done right before their big day and night!

A brazilian wax is sexy and fun and very exciting.
We do, however, recommend that you don't leave this treatment until the last minute. Come and see us 4-5weeks before your wedding for your first waxing experience. The reason for this lies in the fact that the first time you have a brazilian or bikini wax your skin can be a little tender. Although the risk is slight, until we've waxed you the first time, we can not be sure that you will not have an allergic reaction to the wax.

Having done at least one wax before your wedding wax will grant you peace of mind. You know what to expect! For best results, ie: less hair and slower regrowth... it is a great idea to have 1 to 2 waxes under your belt ( haha...you know what I mean) before your important day. Schedule your second wax 2 to 3 days before the wedding and feel confident that your Brazilian honeymoon will be everything you wanted it to be.
Don't worry though if somehow "brazilian" waxing didn't make it into your wedding planner. You don't have time for two waxes before the wedding? All is not lost. We will take great care of you. We would like you to come see us 3 to 4 days before the wedding and we promise to tell you everything you need to know on how to care for your skin and keep your skin looking beautiful for your big day.
Our brides are special to Wax Me Too. We even have a full page dedicated to you on our website.

Some fun little facts about Utah brides and Wax Me Too are
a) we get a bridal surge just after Christmas and right before Valentine's Day
b) most of our brides come from the Provo/Orem area
c) BYU brides come in groups of three
d) most brides wax for their future husbands...most brides come back AFTER the wedding for themselves! e) most brides come to their first appointment with their best friend
f) most brides honeymoon in warm places
g) most brides become addicted to Brazilian waxing and become lifelong clients of Wax Me Too.

If you are a bride wanting to brazilian wax make sure you find a salon that specializes in the brazilian. You want to wax with a licensed esthetician that is trained in waxing and knows what she is doing. (It will not benefit you to be waxed by someone who has only done a few brazilian waxes in her lifetime! Don't be someones practice wax) Sanitation is a must. Make sure your waxer never ever double dips into the wax pot. Can't think of anything more yucky than being waxed with a stick that was used on the client before you. Education. If you are new to waxing, you will want to know how to take care of your newly waxed skin after your service. Believe it or not, there are a list of do's and don'ts.

A bride getting waxed is different than just your average woman coming in for a waxing. Why? Well, because as a bride you are preparing for the big event. You want that day to be perfect. When you select your caterer, you choose very carefully. Same with photographer, same with your waxer. Don't leave a wedding brazilian wax up to chance.
Come see us at Wax Me Too where brazilian waxing is our number one requested service. Waxing, it's what we do, all day long, 7 days a week from early to late. We have five easy to get to locations in St. George, Draper, Salt Lake City, Layton and most recently Orem!

How to Bikini Wax

At Wax Me Too Salons we have a lot of clients tell us they have tried (most often with unfortunate results) how to do a bikini wax at home. This attempt leads them to the internet where they find us and come in for a quick fix.

First let me say that I do not recommend anyone who is not an expert waxer, try to wax themselves at home. Waxing, although may look simple enough, is an acquired skill.

When you come in for a bikini wax at a Wax Me Too salon, you will be treated with the utmost care and caution. First, you will be asked to fill out a client consult form. We want to make sure our client isn't using any medications such as accutane ( an anti acne medicine) which can cause a thinning of skin ( making waxing disastrous and dangerous). We also want to know about past waxing experiences and if you had bruising or tearing of the skin during a wax. This alerts us to 2 interesting things. 1. You had a bad wax with someone who didn't know how to wax properly or 2. You have extremely sensitive skin and we will proceed with caution!

After determining that you are a great candidate for waxing, we will usher you into a private very clean treatment room where you will (in privacy) be asked to undress from the waist down and get onto the treatment table--cover up your private area. We are very respectful of our clients and use pristine towels to cover up the bikini area, uncovering only to apply wax and remove the hair.

Your basic bikini is a great option for anyone new to waxing. Many people fear waxing ( I mean, we are "ripping" hair from your follicle). A basic bikini wax will include hair removal from both sides of the leg area...the inside of the thigh to the outside. Imagine putting on your bathing suit bottom....and any hair you can see outside of the elastic and fabric, we will remove. We will also remove hair that is just below the belly button, just to be sure no stray hairs pop out over the top of your swim suit.

Utah is home to many athletes and outdoors folks! We have beautiful spring and summers, an abundance of lakes in which to swim and boat, and places to hike and be one with nature!

Waxing is a popular option when it comes to hair removal. It is also very cost effective. For prices on all waxing, feel free to visit our website.

At Wax Me Too we give away alot of FREE bikini waxes. Simply visit our website and enter to win a free bikini wax.

So, how to bikini wax? It's easy. Just visit us at a Wax Me Too Salon in Layton, Draper, Salt Lake City, Orem or St. George!

Some Helpful Advice with Achieving the Perfect Eyebrow Shape

At Wax Me Too Salons, we take your eyebrows very seriously. They require much discussion, consideration, and contemplation. Because brows frame your face, enhance the "windows to your soul"-- your eyes, and are often one of the first body parts another will notice about you, we want to make sure that a client coming in for a brow wax (brow design) receives the attention they deserve.

In esthetics and cosmetology school the student is taught some fundamental elements to brow waxing along with the mantra that a brow wax should take 15 minutes top! Brows are often considered a small add on service to any salon treatment and take minimal time and effort.

WRONG! At Wax Me Too Salons we feel that a brow wax and a brow design, although perceived as one in the same, are two separate entities that go hand in hand. The wax, without the design, can be a huge failure, leaving the client with a whole slew of issues that would be, unfortunately, visible to anyone looking at her /his face.

We often find that a client coming in for a brow design requires more time than a Brazilian waxing client. (15 minutes for a Brazilian wax--a bit longer for a first time brow design) The slap wax on, rip hair out approach to brows is passe and any salon cosmo or esthie who does not discuss your brow design with you before applying wax, should raise a red flag.

At Wax Me Too we take pleasure in the shaping of eyebrows. When you first visit with us for an eyebrow design we will discuss the current shape (and state) of your brows and offer our advice on how to achieve the best look for your face and the brows you have. Before any wax is applied, our client knows the goals we will work towards and can then sit back, relax and enjoy the flight (opps, retired flight attendant here...)I meant-- enjoy the wax.

Enjoy the wax? How can that be possible you may ask, after all, aren't you ripping hair from my follicle? Interestingly enough, most clients enjoy having their brows shaped. Our salon beds are firm and comfortable and our client gets to lay back, close their eyes, and relax a little while gentle cleansing is done to the brows and the brow comb is run through the fine strands of hair. ( We use a brow comb to sufficiently note which hairs go in which direction and which hairs need to be removed). Warm wax is applied. Notice the word warm. We do not use HOT wax. Hot wax causes trauma to the skin. Gentle pressure is applied, the pull is quick, and the tingle you feel is lessened by pressure from our fingers on waxed skin.

Great brows can not be achieved through waxing alone. This is the one main reason Wax Me Too Salons book a first time brow wax for a half hour appointment. After the initial shape is designed through waxing, the esthetician will pick up her tweezers and fine tune your brow. We can create a perfect arch in the perfect spot with tweezers.

Some interesting tidbits about brows... Brows are not twins, they are not identical, and in many cases can never be shaped identically. Brows are sisters! That being said, your brows should look very similar to one another to the naked eye. There is no excuse for an esthetician who makes your brows lopsided or uneven! Many people have scars on their brow line. I am never surprised to find a thin scar when I run a brow comb through the hair...how many of us have fallen at the age of 2? Another interesting find, many people pull out their eyebrows with their fingers ( a nervous habit) and in some cases have thinned the brow to the point the hair no longer grows!

How can you get the perfect brow design? Well if you live in Utah, come to a Wax Me Too esthetician, if not, look for these indicators.

1. Ask for a consultation. No wax should be applied until you have discussed the brow you have, its faults and attributes, the brow you want, and how you will get it.
2. Ask if the esthetican will fine tune the brow with tweezers. ( It is very rare that tweezers need not be used)

Most common mistakes:
1. The estie thins the brows too much

2. The middle (unibrow area) is taken too far to the outer part of your face
3. Wax is hot which can cause burning or tearing of skin
4. The skin is not held taut when the wax/hair is removed and can cause tearing of skin
4. The esthethetician does not ask the client if she is using products (such as Retin A) on her skin which can cause tearing
5. The client wants Christina Aguilera brows
5. The esthetician promises the client Christina Aguilera brows but the client is not Christina Aguilera

Eyebrow design is not rocket science, but it is a little more complicated than slapping on wax and ripping off hair. Having your brows professionally designed is easy and affordable. Most brows designs cost a mere $15.00 yet can offer you a month of beautiful brows, give you an arch where one was needed, allow you a instant eye lift, and frame the windows to your soul! Bikini Waxing Salon to Open in Orem Utah

Our phones have been ringing off the hook with clients wanting to know when our expert team of waxers will be taking clients in Orem, Utah. Wax Me Too Salon is known for its bikini-brazilian waxing technique and exemplary customer service!

We hope to have our doors open for business March 1st. We know clients will be thrilled with our beautiful new salon at 1160 South State Street just across from the Orem University Mall.

We have been wanting to open our doors in Orem for a while now, but have held back simply because we couldn't find the perfect location. That all changed this January when, on a visit to Leticia's Salon in Orem, she told us about an available space in her building.

Wax Me Too is one (out of maybe 2) truly "waxing only" salons. We don't do any other services than hair removal through waxing. Because waxing is all we do, we are great at it!

We have other locations throughout Utah in Layton, Salt Lake City, Draper and St. George.

Brazilian or Brazilian....Wax?

We may not have invented it (the brazilian wax) but we have certainly perfected it! That is the American way, after all...take a great idea and make it better.
Brazilian waxing gained its popularity when a few sisters from Brazil decided that hair removal (down there) through waxing was the only way to go. From my understanding, the Brazilian-way of waxing is the use of a combination of hard and soft wax.
Hard wax companies have done brilliant job of selling the salon population and the general public the merits of hard wax. At Wax Me Too salons...we (and most importantly) our clients...hate it. It is not as effective when it comes to removing ALL the hair. It takes longer to do a brazilian wax because the wax has to "set" up and harden before it can be removed...and our clients tell us it is more painful (possibly because the rip must be slower).
We have taken a much requested service (the brazilian -bikini wax) and made it better. By using only soft wax, we have found that hair removal is more complete and risks to the skin (tearing ) is eliminated with proper technique.
Want to try a brazilian bikini wax? Then come see us at Wax Me Too salons in Orem, Draper, Salt Lake City, Layton and St. George!
Brazilian waxing, its what we do best!

Hair Removal Through Waxing Not Laser

Body Waxing, especially in the Brazilian-Bikini area is an exciting trend that has taken off all over the United States and especially here in Utah. For about ten years now, hair has become something passe. No one wants hair, unless its on your head,of course. A few years back, people tried laser hair removal, most with disappointing results and a hit to the bank account. Then, some sisters from Brazil started a trend known as Brazilian waxing and ...it caught on.

At Wax Me Too Salons (5 here in Utah- Layton, Salt Lake City, Draper, Orem and St. George ) brazilian waxing is our number one requested service. All we do is wax...although we also offer eyebrow designs and full body waxing (even toes and noses). If you have hair anywhere, we can wax it.

But why wax? Number one, it's addicting and for a variety of reasons. First and foremost it eliminates the need to shave for several weeks. Secondly, it's cost efficient with eyebrow shaping at the low end at $15.00 and full legs running (haha) at $55.00. Your basic bikini starts and $30.00 and depending on the depth of the waxing you would like, can go to about $50.00

If being hair free for several weeks and the saying goodbye to your razor isn't reason enough to wax, another is that the hair itself seems to thin out and those with really thick coarse hair, notice a finer and sometimes even a lighter regrowth. Those dark five o'clock shadows some get (and not only on their faces) can be diminished over time through monthly waxing.

Lastly, Utah folks love waxing because it is all about the senses. With shaving, you get prickles. With waxing, you get soft, smooth and sexy skin! We like to say at Wax Me Too...."waxing...it isn't JUST about eyebrows anymore"

Because we are waxing specialists, we can't say too much about laser except what we have heard from our clients who laser. It's painful, it doesn't last, it's time consuming and it's expensive. We have hundreds of clients come to our salon after laser treatments for one simple reason....the hair always seems to grow back! With waxing, the hair removal is not permanent, but it looks like with with laser, it isn't permanent either.

From Brows to Toes & Everything in Between

"From brows to toes & everything in between" Wax Me Too Salon is Utah's premiere waxing only salon.

Although we specialize in the popular brazilian wax there are a great number of clients just not ready for complete hair removal down under. Just because you don't want to go braziliandoesn't mean you are not ready for a little "landscaping" down under.

Wax Me Too offers three variations of bikini-brazilian waxing. Our most modest wax is the typical bikini wax which includes hair removal outside the panty line...most typically in the crease of the legs. We will also clean up the "above the panty" hairline which in some cases starts below the navel. No one wants straggly hairs peeping out over the top of their swimsuit.

Secondly, we offer a deep bikini wax which one can say is in between a modest bikini and the "take it all" brazilian wax. The deep bikini wax brings the hair line in...so far that it is almost a rectangle of hair from top to bottom. As indelicate as it may sound, the deep bikini also includes hair removal from the bum!

A full brazilian wax, while our most popular service, includes hair removal from the front, all the way up through the back! Some choose to leave a "landing strip" or "triangle" of hair but most just want to take it all off!

Any wax you choose, you can be sure that at Wax Me Too Salons, each team member is a master esthetician trained specifically in the art of waxing!

We put foremost, safety in waxing, sanitation in waxing, and the education of our clients about their waxing service. Why wax at Wax Me Too? Hair removal through waxing is all we do!

Bikini Waxing in Orem Utah

Well, it seems almost crazy, but we are getting ready to open Wax Me Too Salon # 5 in the friendly town of Orem. Orem has long been on our minds as we have a large number of clients coming to Draper to wax with us!

Somethings things just work out. Joann and I decided that 2012 was going to be our Utah County year. First of January we had a lead to a salon that was renting space. We checked it out, but, it just didn't have quite the right feel.

Discouraged, we decided to do what we had in the past and started making phone calls. A few phone calls later (almost like it happened when we opened in Layton) we made a connection!

Our new waxing only salon will be in a fabulous location on State Street, right across the street from the University mall.

We hope to be open for waxing business....you know, hair removal for all those pesky hairs "from brows to toes & inbetween..." March 1st 2012.

For coupons on waxing, just visit our website waxmetoo.com and be sure to look at our Orem page.

The First Time Brazilian Waxing Experience

So you want to have a first time brazilian wax but wait...it's kind of scary. Chances are you've done your research and have landed here at Wax Me Too, Utah's premier waxing salon. It's no joke when I say we do over 1000 brazilian waxes each month! Waxing is what we do, all day long, so we promise- you will be in great hands.

You may have a lot of questions and some expectations about this whole process so the point of this article is to put you at ease and to let you know what you can expect when getting a wax at any Wax Me Too Salon.

Upon arrival you will be given a form and asked to fill it out. This form will alert your esthetician to any contraindications or special concerns you may have about waxing. We will want to know if you've waxed before, if you had any negative reactions to waxing, and most importantly,if you are on any medications that could cause your skin to react to the wax! We want this experience to be the best possible- and this client form is of the utmost importance.

After this, your esthetician will show you into the treatment room which is esthetically "cute" if I may say so myself...yet clinically clean. The treatment table will be covered with fresh and laundered linens and a environmentally friendly and comfortable mat. We have a place for you to hang your pants and put your shoes. A small drape, which will be used to preserve your modesty, is on the bed. For your privacy, your esthetician will leave the room momentarily while you change, take a deep breath and convince yourself that you are really about to do this!

Once you are set, your esthetician will come back into the rooms, wash her hands and put on gloves (for your safty!) The area to be waxed with be cleaned with an antiseptic wipe and voila--you are ready for the first application of wax. The warm wax (not hot) is applied to the hair, usually the section just below the belly button. A strip of muslin is placed over this wax and then, with your help in pulling the skin taut (it hurts less) the strip is removed, the wax is removed and VOILA, the hair is removed.

You will sigh a big sigh of relief because:
a) it didn't hurt as bad as you thought it would and
b) you will be fascinated by the hairless smooth patch of skin you see and
c) you didn't pass out, scream, yell or hit your esthetician like you thought you might!

Meanwhile, your humble esthetician will wipe the sweat from her brow- as we never know what might happen with our nervous clients once that first wax is removed--- a scream, a grab at the hand, a punch to the jaw....just kidding.

So we move on.

We do much of the front area and then ask you to turn onto your side with knees in the fetal position. Unlike other salons, we don't ask you to put your rear in the air or get onto your hands and knees! That is just a little too embarressing for you and not only that, its hard on the arms.

The back area takes a minute and by this time, we know the name of your boyfriend- girlfriend what you got for Christmas, what you didn't get that you wanted and just like that, we are finished.

However, before we are completely, finally, totally finished and ready to leave the room finished...we will make sure your wax is perfect and take the time to remove any tiny left over hairs with our tweezers. We do adhere to a "no hair left behind" policy. Can't take credit for that line, as G W Bush said it first, although we substituted the word children for hair!

At this point in time, you are in awe that we finished your whole brazilian wax and it took ...what? 15 minutes or so? We've been chatting and talking the whole time and you've just made a new friend. Of course, we are thrilled that we have a new client and that you love your wax.

Have to say, we take a lot of pride in being Utah's premier waxing salon and that you chose US to do your waxing.

Waxing session is over and we will leave you with a cool clean towel just in case you feel a "sticky" that we missed! We leave you to your privacy to get dressed.

As you dress...you should be feeling a sense of elation. By George, you did it. Cross one of the bucket list!

We know you want to shout out and holler to the whole world about your brazilian wax, so we have created a really fun facebook page that you can join and join in on the wonderful world of waxing conversations (and humor).

So, not only did you live to tell the tale to all of your friends (because of our great referral program where we give you 10% off your next service for each friend that books with us) but before you leave, we will have you re-booked with us next month for your second ever wax. In the back of your mind you are kissing your razor goodbye (and good riddance) and are looking forward to one month of hair-free.

By the time you leave, you will be fully educated on how best to care for your newly waxed skin. You will be reassured that should you have any questions about your waxing treatment that you may call us!

So, what are you waiting for? Schedule Your First Brazilian Wax book that service and, find us on Facebook!
