Who doesn't love a bunch of sparkles!  We were remembering the vagazzle fad that swept through Wax Me Too Salons about 5 years ago.  While on a recent trip to England, we learned the vagazzling is alive and well and still trending overseas!

Naked and Afraid, the Brazilian Wax

It seems like fall is just as busy time to wax as summer.  At our 5 salons in Utah we have seen an increase in Brazilian waxing now that the kids are back to school and moms have more time for themselves.

Many of our new clients have told us that our funny little story has put them at ease knowing that the brazilian wax will not be as intimidating as most imagine it to be.

But for some, the hesitation is there:

So what are first time waxers afraid of?  Being NAKED in front of a stranger. At Wax Me Too all our waxers understand this.  Therefore, after you have checked in with your waxer we try hard to put you at ease with our witty repertoire and personality.  We lead you to the treatment room where a very intimidating bed awaits, but then will instruct you on every little thing you need to do, including where to put your bum.   (why wax at Wax Me Too )

And then we leave you to your privacy to get undressed.

We also have a perfectly clean and bleached towel for you to cover up your lady bits so that when we do enter the room you don't feel so exposed.

First time waxers are also afraid of the PAIN of waxing!  At Wax Me Too, we have perfected the art of Brazilian waxing and employ techniques which ease the pain of waxing.  I can't tell you all our secrets here, you will just have to trust me on this one.  On a side note, it's important to know that waxing removes hair from the root. It hurts.  Any salon who claims painless waxing is probably using a wax that breaks the hair at the surface.  Another important bit of information is that that first wax hurts the most...each consecutive gets easier and easier.  Therefore, when getting a first wax, you want an experienced waxer like at Wax Me Too where we have some tricks up our sleeve to make that first time not so bad!   (Why you should wax at Wax Me Too )

EMBARRASSING POSITIONING !  What can I say folks.  No one wants to stick their bum into the air and have a stranger ( or anyone) wax them.  This was the "taught" brazilian waxing position for years, but again, Wax Me Too- the First Waxing Only Salon in Utah, changed the trend. We said, no way would we want to do that...so neither will our clients.  We will never ask you to put your bum in the air. Rather, we have you turn to your side in fetal position and can wax you without humiliation.

First time waxers often are afraid of poor sanitation.  At Wax Me Too, we put your sanitation and safety above all else.  You will find a SINK in every single treatment room where we will wash our hands before starting any service on you.  Wax Me Too was the first waxing only salon in Utah and when we opened our doors we had implemented a strict NO DOUBLE DIPPING into the wax pot. Others have followed us in this trend.

Brazilian waxing is becoming a more common and everyday request throughout waxing salons in Utah.  Wax Me Too Salons was the first "waxing only" salon to start up in Utah nearly 11 years ago.

Brazilian waxing is our most requested service and we'd like to think we have perfected the technique and do it better than anyone else.  ( In fact, imitation is the most sincere form of flattery and we have noticed many local Utah salons and estheticians utilizing our techniques)

If you are contemplating your first brazilian wax, it's important to chose your salon wisely.

1. Your salon should put your safety and security at the top of its list.  You should be asked to fill out an information form that will alert your esthetican to any topical products or medical conditions that may be adverse to waxing.

2. Your salon should offer you an experienced waxer, not someone fresh out of beauty school or uncomfortable with waxing.

3. Your treatment room should be CLEAN and smell CLEAN.

4. Your treatment room should contain a sink. If there is no sink, how is your esthetician supposed to wash her hands?

5. Your estheticians should explain to you what you need to do ( how far to undress) and then LEAVE the room and leave you to your privacy while you prepare

5. Your esthetician should always WASH HER HANDS before starting any service and after she washes she should put on gloves to protect your skin!

2. Please don't tan before you wax (we won't wax over a burn)

3. Try to schedule your wax a few days before your "big event" if you have one planned

4. YES, we can wax you while you are pregnant but we do recommend you speak to your doctor

5.We can not wax clients who are using accutane

 At Wax Me Too Salons (5 in Utah) we've seen an increase in the number of male clients coming in for grooming appointments.  In today's world, body hair is something akin to taboo!  It's not only women who find relief from shaving through waxing, but men too!  The word "Metrosexual" explains our client, a man who is especially meticulous about his grooming and appearance!

While we do full male body waxing, one of our most popular services is male brow wax. The unibrow is OUT, and a groomed masculine shape, minus the unibrow is in. No, no,  gentleman, no high arches or sissy brows allowed ( unless specifically asked for )

A brow wax is easy. Your esthetician will use a little wax to grab rogue hairs and her tweezers to fine tune. Total time from start to finish:  15 minutes!

Our next big service jumps from your brows to.... lower.  It's called manscaping, What's the big deal? Just ask our clients.  Our male clients will tell you they have as much desire to be smooth and clean as their wives, girlfriends or partners.

The male brazilian wax is called a "Manzilian".  A Manzilian is just like a ladies brazilian as it removes all pubic hair from the front to the back.

Ouch, you may think.  But the ouch factor is the same for both men and women. Quite simply, hair is being removed from its root (the follicle) and the body is then forced to grow a new hair, which in most circumstances comes in thinner and more fine!

Does it hurt?  Well sure.  Try yanking a hair from your scalp or your forearm.  Anyone who tells you there ins't a little ouch factor involved is lying!  Is it gonna kill ya?  Heck no.

A good waxer can remove all hair from the front to the back in just under 30 minutes.  At Wax Me Too we charge $80.00 for a manzilian.  We have certain estheticians and licensed professionals who are specifically trained in the art of male waxing.  After all, as a client, you will want a waxer who is quick, competent and comfortable with the procedure.

In order to prepare for your first manzilian, we recommend that you have at least 10 days of hair growth from the last time you shaved.  Never shaved?  No worries.  That makes our job all the easier and for you, possibly a more complete wax as there won't be tiny hairs or uneven hair growth.
